Just then, the house moves again and taunts Chowder by playing his basketball that is marked with Jack-O-Lantern's face, which Chowder perceives that the house would start the real killing spree tonight. Just then, Officer Landers and Officer Lister arrive, but they didn’t believe him at all and instead scold them for “vandalism” toward the house (due to any attempt to taunt the house was vain and Jenny discovers that the possessed house was very intelligent to do so).

To make matters worse, Nebbercracker's departure causes Constance's spirit within the house to awaken, and with Nebbercracker gone, there is no one to keep her calm. The postures and gestures of DJ (Mitchell Musso) and his pals — a pudgy fellow named Chowder (Sam Lerner) and a preppy redhead named Jenny (Spencer Locke) — have an authentically loose and antic look. They seem like real kids, rather than like super-cute, big-headed cartoon moppets. “Monster House” is unpretentious, smartly written (by Dan Harmon, Rob Schrab and Pamela Pettler) and a lot of fun. Monster House is a 2006 American computer animated fantasy film, released on July 21, 2006 produced by ImageMovers and Amblin Entertainment, and distributed by Columbia Pictures. They, much like other people, do not appear to believe the boys at all, but are simply doing their job to make sure they don't get hurt. While they agree with people that DJ might be crazy, they nevertheless love him and try to do what's best for him. While they are married and have a history together, their relationship goes through profound challenges. The house remains still until morning, though DJ and Chowder continue to watch it from DJ’s room for hours even with Zee’s interference and resort to peeing in bottles, so they won’t miss any of the possessed house’s activities. As the credits roll, the victims who were eaten by the house emerges from the hole. Bones finds out that Zee is now dating Skull, then Officer Landers and Officer Lister leave to "investigate" some of the trick-or-treating candy & the dog urinates on a nearby jack-o'-lantern enough to put out its flame. What became of Horace Nebbercracker after the incident is unknown, but Chowder tells DJ that he assumes Horace might go on vacation, get some color and maybe meet someone new, perhaps a "nice beach house". Near the end of the film, he wore a hospital gown and a white bandage around his arm, probably due to lifting DJ and losing his strength because of his old age after he tried to get Chowder’s basketball.
Its left tree arm is placed at the end of its tail and its right arm(still intact) is smaller and thinner. Whilst managing to calm the house down, Nebbercracker laments over the fact that he has failed to keep his wife's wrath from hurting others and turning her into what she is now a true monster. This saddens the house and provides Nebbercracker an opportunity to end his wife's suffering using a stick of dynamite. The house, however, does not take this well and grabs Nebbercracker to eat him for this apparent betrayal before DJ, Chowder, and Jenny arrive just in time with an excavator, which proves effective against the house. As the house fights with Chowder, who is controlling the vehicle, DJ is given the dynamite and is told to destroy the house for good. DJ convinces his friends to keep up with their search for the house's furnace.
